My stepmother thought that the life insurance would cover the cost of the funeral, but unfortunately, it did not, so we had to pay out of pocket for the funeral. My sister and I went back up to the funeral home the next morning and explained the situation to Mary. We had to wait outside in the cold for a longer period of time because they kept the doors locked, which I found to be very weird, to begin with.

Well, I am sorry; the last time I checked, my sister and I were my father's daughters before our stepmother was his wife but whatever. For a woman that claims that she is Catholic, she sure didn't act like it.
Mary went right to the second most expensive package that they had. She never explained any of the other ones to us. We originally went with that package because we didn't know any better.
